Less than a year ago, I stumbled upon the fascinating 1977 Charles and Ray Eames short film Powers of Ten. The opening shot states that Powers of Ten is “a film dealing with the relative size of things in the universe and the effect of adding another zero.” It starts with a couple enjoying a picnic by the lake in Chicago and into the universe. Everyone needs to check out Powers of Ten. I’ve seen it over a thousand times. It’s become my all-time favorite short film.
